Maestro Photography is the data controller responsible for your personal data.
What data we collect and why
When you place an order
To process and deliver your order, we collect your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number (if provided), and the details of your order. We use this information to process your purchase, arrange shipping, send order confirmations and updates, handle your payment, and comply with our legal and tax obligations. The legal basis is the performance of a contract with you, and our legal obligation to keep business records.
When you subscribe to the newsletter
If you opt in to our newsletter, we collect your email address to send you occasional updates about new work, exhibitions, and books. You give explicit consent by ticking the subscription box, and you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email.
When you contact us
If you use the contact form or email us directly, we collect the information you provide (such as your name, email address, and message) in order to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your questions.
When you visit the website
We collect limited technical and usage data through cookies and analytics (see the Cookies section below) to keep the website secure and to understand how it is used. For security and spam prevention, our security software may log IP addresses and browser information.
Who we share your data with
We only share your data with the service providers we need to run the shop and website. These parties process your data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:
- Mollie — payment processing (iDEAL, credit card, PayPal, Bancontact and others). Payment details are handled directly by Mollie; we do not store your full payment information.
- PostNL — shipping and delivery. Your name and delivery address are shared to create shipping labels and deliver your order. For orders outside the EU, the required customs information is included on the parcel.
- Mailchimp — newsletter delivery, if you have subscribed.
- Google (Analytics via Site Kit) — anonymised website statistics.
- Our hosting provider — secure storage of the website and its data.
Some of these providers (for example Google) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses are in place. We never sell your personal data.
Cookies
This website uses cookies. Strictly necessary cookies keep the shopping cart and checkout working and cannot be switched off. Analytics cookies (via Google Site Kit) are only placed after you give consent through the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie settings on the website.
How long we keep your data
Order and invoice data is kept for as long as required by Dutch tax law (currently seven years). Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Contact enquiries are kept only as long as needed to handle your question and any follow-up.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@maestro-photography.nl. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
